MP3Skyline is a fresh looking MP3-download site with a massive collection of songs, over 154.654 artists, 3.089.041 tracks, totaling more than 25.965 terabytes
(1 terabyte = 1.000GB)!
What I like about MP3Skyline is its simplicity; straight to the point approach with no overloading charts and other nonsense. The information they do display is more useful, such as 'Last Added MP3s' which is further broken down into 'Today', 'Yesterday' and so on. The site does also offer an A~Z search box of artists.
The quality of the MP3s are at 192kbps or greater. A large number of tracks are labeled "VBR" for variable bit rate; however, one track I downloaded was actually 192kbps and not VBR, despite the VBR label. Downloads are fast: I experienced about 600KB/s download rate with my DSL connection.
The registration process is very simple and once logged in you have the option to add funds to your account. The minimum payment is set at $20, which is about average, with the option of a discount the more you add. Their best offer is, if adding $45 to your account, you receive a $10 free bonus.
Most of the tracks cost $0.20 so that's a deal you can't beat anywhere, especially not when looking for hard-to-find tracks. Tracks over 20MB costs a little more.
Although, the genre menu list is a little disappointing only showing the main genres. On a good note though; MP3Skyline have RSS feeds you can subscribe to below each and every genre.
The only major downfall with MP3Skyline is the payment methods, only accepting Visa and Mastercard. If they accepted more methods they would be a very serious problem for their competitors!
MP3Skyline is definitely worth checking out with the ever growing, already huge, mp3 collection and coming with a hassle free site it's a breath of fresh air for sure.
A new feature of MP3SkyLine which trumps is the pre-listening capability which basically includes their entire catalog of over 2,300,000 tracks. Available right at your fingertips for listening in great quality (128kbps). This service is free, and doesn't even require that you sign up at the main site.
You can listen to anything in the catalog, which is something that no other site offers. Even if you aren't interested in purchasing music, I strongly suggest taking a look at the site.
